Czech artist David Černý has just completed his first U.S. installation at the Whitehall Technology Park in Charlotte, North Carolina. The 30-foot-high, 14-ton sculpture and fountain, called “Metalmorphosis,” is a dynamic form in the shape of an abstracted human head that is constantly twisting and turning with the help of a computer-driven control center. The rotation allows it the piece to transform seamlessly from a human face to a stack of glittering abstracted reflective disks.
